Once in a while I let myself become excited about a product, a rarity as I usually do loads of research or I pick products that I think will pan out. When Wet n Wild added a new blush to their Color Icon line, I let myself get excited. With a shade name like Rose Champagne and a color to match, how could I not? Sadly, it did not pan out for me. Haul posts and shopping in general are things that I am cutting back on, but everyone deserves a little birthday shopping and hauling right? Besides, birthdays are the perfect excuse to treat yourself to things you would not normally splurge on. Surprisingly, even with the intention to splurge I still saved a pretty penny. Even better! As a precursor to a post I have planned for next week, I want to tell you about the E.L.F. Blush in Gotta Glow. While doing a random internet search I read that this was a dupe for NARS’ Albatross, a claim I cannot validate as I don’t own the latter but nonetheless intrigued me. As you might be able to tell from the pumpkin candle in the background, I have had this for several months and going through photos recently I realized, it is time for a review. Continue reading
In the six months that I have subscribed to Ipsy I have finally found a pattern, I think, at least with my bag. It seems to me that every other month I receive an amazing bag and the rest of the months my bag is underwhelming. My March bag was the latter, or somewhere in between at least.
Happy Friday! As much as I am looking forward to a fun-filled weekend, I will once again be on Team No Sleep and have little time to blog. Such has been the case since my Denver trip and only made worse by daylight savings. Seriously, is it still necessary? At least I found time and energy to write a quick review of an eyeliner I have not been able to put down. Continue reading
When my mom first made me wash my face on a daily basis 12 or so years ago, I would find any way to weasel out of it. Fast forward to today, the idea of washing my face and going through my full skin care routine is what makes my drive home after work bearable. Last week I put up my morning skin care routine and now I am following that with my night time routine, which I promise is easier than it looks! Continue reading
Even though I had no clue who Carli Bybel was when this palette launched this fall I quickly fell into the hype. A custom palette from BH Cosmetics, one of my favorite brands, pretty swatches on Instagram, and affordable? I signed up on their waitlist immediately. After months of admiring it in my collection I finally put it to the test and here are my thoughts. Enjoy the swatch porn! Continue reading
Happy Monday ladies and gents! Today I want to share with you my current skincare routine for mornings to change things up from posting nothing but reviews and reviews. Creating a skincare routine requires time, research, an understanding of your skin, and testing. Thus, after weeks of looking at different routines and slowly incorporating new products I have come up with the following simple morning routine. Later this week I will have my night time routine up as well.
Apologies for the click-baity title, but it is absolutely true. So far this year I have backed off my “This Week At The Drugstore” Sunday posts because they were redundant and encouraging my shopping addiction but I have to share this. Recently I heard someone complain that CVS is the most expensive of the American drugstores but a little bit of planning and a few lucky coupons one can really score at CVS. See for yourself! What a month! From having the Superbowl in town to visiting my best friend in Denver last week, February held plenty of opportunities to play with makeup. This post is late, sorry, but I was exhausted this whole week and I was fighting the urge to have an energy drink at work, eeek! But I slept in today and here are my many February Favorites!
