I have never been one for bronzer and maybe I never will be, still I have found one that I can’t put down. Silly me always thought bronzer was pointless for someone with my olive, easily tanned complexion and while I now know better, I still can’t get into them. Months ago I needed a few dollars to get free shipping on a order from BH Cosmetics and this looked pretty enough so I added it to my cart. Now that the weather is warmer and the sun is shining I have been testing it and I think I love it! Continue reading
Next on my list of posts I need to put up: these Real Techniques makeup brush dupes from eBay. I saw these on Reddit in late November and ordered them the next day as I was in need of makeup brushes and the price could not be beat. While I waited for mine to arrive I saw them popping up on the Instagrams of a couple of my favorite bloggers and even a recommended video on Youtube. They arrived in early December and four months later, here they are on the blog. Continue reading
Welcome to what is probably my last Ipsy Glam Bag for a while. In other words, this month’s bag has been the nudge I needed to cancel my Ipsy subscription after five or so months of debating. I am not a fan of their customer service model and when I pulled this bag out of my mailbox the pink envelope was barely sealed! I mean, a tiny sliver of adhesive was keeping the flap glued to the envelope and the rest was open like a clam. Not to say that April’s bag was a complete loss but as a whole Ipsy does not seem worth it to me anymore. Still, here is my April Glam Bag (don’t mind the salt)! Continue reading
Going through my posts and strangely, I have yet to mention a Makeup Revolution highlighter. Today I am fixing that with their Vivid Baked Highlighter in Radiant Lights. Tati mentioned these in a video not long ago and I respectfully disagree with her opinion. (I also found her lack of brand research alarming and uncharacteristic.) Find out why! Continue reading
Good morning all! In the spirit of spring cleaning and getting out of this funk I am in, I have resolved to post everything I have had in the bag for a while, slowly of course. I have too many products dating back to last summer that I bought, photographed, used, never wrote about and I want to clean out that “To Do” folder and start fresh in a sense. I figure it will also be a good way to rediscover products, starting with the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face & Eyes. Continue reading
Believe it or not, good highlighters at the drugstore do exist and I have a list to prove it. Not to hate on high-end or Sephora priced highlighters, but I have heard enough complaints about a “lack of highlighters” at the drugstore to finally stand up and say something about it. Originally I thought that their increased availability was correlated to the explosion in their popularity, but some of these have been around far too long for that to be true, they just weren’t exactly labeled as “highlighters.” So I have compiled a list of highlighters, from my own makeup collection, to show that good highlighters are available at the drugstore and most of them are $10 or less.
Today I have yet another product that has been in my collection for months, that I have used plenty of times, and that I have failed to mention on my blog. Even though I mentioned the E.L.F. Shimmer Powder in my February Favorites I keep forgetting to talk about it and to write about this hidden gem of a highlighter. If you’re looking for a good and budget friendly highlighter, you may want to read on.
Does anyone else feel as though they can’t go a day without seeing or hearing about the brand Morphe on YouTube or social media? I myself have been curious about their products but have never been able to pull the trigger. Maybe it is the relentless hype train going full speed ahead on YouTube or their horribly disjointed website last time I visited. And then I saw this video from Stephanie Nicole that has been making the rounds on Reddit recently. Whatever your feelings on Morphe, this video is worth the watch for the information and insights she gives on the beauty industry.
Just like my Ipsy bags, I feel that my monthly favorites are inspired one month and tired the next. This month was tiring and when I am tired and don’t want to think I rely on old, tried and true favorites. Still, there were a few products that stood out and proved themselves to be absolute necessities. Continue reading
