Happy March ya’ll! I can honestly and without cliché say that March snuck up on me. Hell, mid-February snuck up on me and whatever half-thought plans I had in mind went out the window. I think I can also say that I had fun with makeup and blogging in February, a turn around from the previous month or two, with my first destash and empties post. And now, I also have February favorites. Products that I looked at mid-month and said, “Oh yes, you are a going in there!” Continue reading
I did it! I finally cancelled my Ipsy subscription, I feel great, and I’m going to tell you all about it. Get ready. Continue reading
Welcome to what is probably my last Ipsy Glam Bag for a while. In other words, this month’s bag has been the nudge I needed to cancel my Ipsy subscription after five or so months of debating. I am not a fan of their customer service model and when I pulled this bag out of my mailbox the pink envelope was barely sealed! I mean, a tiny sliver of adhesive was keeping the flap glued to the envelope and the rest was open like a clam. Not to say that April’s bag was a complete loss but as a whole Ipsy does not seem worth it to me anymore. Still, here is my April Glam Bag (don’t mind the salt)! Continue reading
Just like my Ipsy bags, I feel that my monthly favorites are inspired one month and tired the next. This month was tiring and when I am tired and don’t want to think I rely on old, tried and true favorites. Still, there were a few products that stood out and proved themselves to be absolute necessities. Continue reading
In the six months that I have subscribed to Ipsy I have finally found a pattern, I think, at least with my bag. It seems to me that every other month I receive an amazing bag and the rest of the months my bag is underwhelming. My March bag was the latter, or somewhere in between at least.
In the past I have been critical of my IPSY Glam Bags, sure it is only $10 a month but I feel that they over promise and under deliver more often than not. February is the exception because I am head over heels with my glam bag. After six months as a subscriber, I have finally received a bag that has me jumping for joy so let’s just jump in.
When this lip pencil arrived in an Ipsy bag back in November I thought, “Good job sending me a lipstick without the cap guys.” My second thought asked who or what this brand was, I had never heard of them. My third thought hoped that there wasn’t red lipstick all over the inside of the cute Ipsy bag. Safe to say I was not impressed, but there is a reason we don’t always go by first impressions. Continue reading
I have a confession to make: high end mascaras do not get my engine going. It is not that I am a drugstore snob but I cannot justify spending a gas tank’s worth of money on a tube of mascara. Especially now that I know how to apply falsies and mascara is merely a formality. So when Ipsy included the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in my bag a few months back, I was pretty happy.
Moscato and Mascara is one post away from inadvertently making it nail polish week, apologies. This Julie G nail polish came in my December Ipsy bag and when I first saw it I was hesitant at the color. But I decided to be a good sport and try it without any prejudice or negativity and I am ready to report. Continue reading
It is the Ipsy time of the month again! This month however I am going into my glam bag with a positive attitude and not as the negative Nancy I was last month. Whether it is my attitude or the contents of the bag themselves, I finally received a bag that impressed me. Continue reading
