The saying goes “Better late than never!” and late I am with this floral trend. Is it even a trend still? Months back Lancôme introduced their La Rôse Blush Poudre and it was stunning and makeup lovers fawned over it and then they fainted at the price tag of a mere $60. Lancôme was selling a paper flower covered in powdered blush inside a cardboard box that probably isn’t very practical for $60…yeah, no. People quickly made their own, more affordable versions at home and today I am sharing with you how I made my highlighter version of it. Continue reading
Today I have another highlighter to talk about, and it is another one from Makeup Revolution. This is a quick one as it is another one of their Vivid Baked Highlighters, I reviewed another one here. Although they are the same product in different shades I find them to be quite different, different enough to merit Golden Lights its own post. Continue reading
Good morning all! In the spirit of spring cleaning and getting out of this funk I am in, I have resolved to post everything I have had in the bag for a while, slowly of course. I have too many products dating back to last summer that I bought, photographed, used, never wrote about and I want to clean out that “To Do” folder and start fresh in a sense. I figure it will also be a good way to rediscover products, starting with the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette for Face & Eyes. Continue reading
Today I have yet another product that has been in my collection for months, that I have used plenty of times, and that I have failed to mention on my blog. Even though I mentioned the E.L.F. Shimmer Powder in my February Favorites I keep forgetting to talk about it and to write about this hidden gem of a highlighter. If you’re looking for a good and budget friendly highlighter, you may want to read on.
As a precursor to a post I have planned for next week, I want to tell you about the E.L.F. Blush in Gotta Glow. While doing a random internet search I read that this was a dupe for NARS’ Albatross, a claim I cannot validate as I don’t own the latter but nonetheless intrigued me. As you might be able to tell from the pumpkin candle in the background, I have had this for several months and going through photos recently I realized, it is time for a review. Continue reading
Even though I had no clue who Carli Bybel was when this palette launched this fall I quickly fell into the hype. A custom palette from BH Cosmetics, one of my favorite brands, pretty swatches on Instagram, and affordable? I signed up on their waitlist immediately. After months of admiring it in my collection I finally put it to the test and here are my thoughts. Enjoy the swatch porn! Continue reading
Today I want to take it way back to one of my first, if not my very first, highlighters. Many say this is a drugstore dupe for Benefit’s Highbeam, having not cared for my sample of it years ago I will let you be the judge of that. After rediscovering it, and these pictures, last week I figured it was time to share this little hidden treasure. Continue reading
If you asked me a year ago what a highlighter was I would have handed you a pink marker out of my bag. If you asked me about Profusion Cosmetics, I would have said they were the crappy make up brand that inundates the drugstore right around this time of year. This product, and this post, are a testament to how much things can change in a year. For the better.
Looks like blush week on Moscato and Mascara as I bring you another blush that I have been testing, a lot. Last month I gave a sweeping review of the BH Cosmetics Floral Blush Duos and since then I bought another one that is more suitable to the current season. This time I have a more detailed review and better swatches. Check it out! Continue reading
Back in late July, early August I found a pair of Maybelline Master Hi-Light Blush with clearance stickers at Target. I’ve never bought much makeup from Maybelline but these had caught my eye months before and with the clearance sticker I naturally picked them up.
